Our Story
Vintage Clocks offers a wide selection of clocks and watches for all budgets, from gifts to collector pieces. I’m James, a horologist with years of experience, and we’ve seen growing interest in clocks and watches, regularly adding new lines.

Where it all began
My fascination with horology began early, and in 2003 I embarked on a career as a horologist, scouring car boot sales across the South West of England for treasures. After restoring the clocks I found, I would sell them on to antique shops and markets. What started as a hobby alongside my work as an illustrator soon became more lucrative than my main job.
Gradually, I shifted my focus to finer antiques and eventually specialised in clocks and watches. It’s been a remarkable journey, with new lessons at every turn. The first clock I ever bought was a French 8-day striking slate mantel clock, which I restored in my spare time before selling at the Shepton Mallet flea market three weeks later. That experience sparked a lasting passion.
Our Qualifications
I have worked closely with the British Horological Institute, completing a lot of their short courses. I have also achieved a diploma in clock servicing and restoration through the BHI, something I am very proud of. I am an active member of both the British Horological Institute and the Watch Makers Guild. I have also completed short courses on topics such as case restoration and dial restoration.
I hold both an HND and a BA (Hons) degree, with good all round clock and watch knowledge, although I continue to learn every day. At Vintage Clocks I am incredibly proud of my Etsy Star Seller badge. I hope one day to have Richard Price’s job on the Antiques Roadshow.

The Customer Promise
I stand by all my clocks and watches and offer a guarantee as standard, but these items are mechanical and can sometimes require further attention. My promise is that if you have any issue at all with a timepiece, even years after buying it, return it to me and I will repair it for a competitive fee.
