Up for sale is a stunning antique Black Forest cuckoo clock, featuring an intricately carved dark wooden case designed in a distinct Gothic/Bahnhäusle architectural style. The case showcases beautiful fretwork, miniature lancet arches, a trefoil patterned lower border, and an integrated cuckoo door at the top.
This traditional timepiece operates on a 30-hour weight-driven chain movement. It features a fully working cuckoo bird that pops out of the door on the hour and half-hour, making its classic cuckoo call powered by internal bellows. The clock is complete with a wooden dial with classic Roman numerals, beautifully stylized ornate white hands, a carved wooden pendulum leaf, and two cast-iron pinecone weights.
