Stunning Antique Edwardian Mahogany Balloon Mantel Clock
An exceptional example of an Edwardian-era balloon mantel clock, retailed by the prestigious London clockmaker J.W. Benson. The clock features a beautifully figured solid mahogany case crafted into an elegant, classic “balloon” or waisted profile.
The front of the case is decorated with exquisite satinwood fan inlay (marquetry) set within a fine oval border, framed by thin stringing that highlights the rich grain of the mahogany. It stands elegantly on four original dark-patinated ball feet.
